They look so nice!!! Thanks guys!!!

The famous Feurzangenbowle stand at the Christmas Market. Feurzangenbowle translates to hot red wine with rum, sugar, cinnamon and a few other things....it's yummy but deadly!

Tash and Mark in Heidelberg

It was so great to have Tash and Mark here this past week. We did a lot of walking, eating and drinking! We even fit in an Oktoberfest party at my work...

They look great for just getting off an international flight! They stayed up the whole day!

The leaves are so pretty here right now...

Oktoberfest 2008....we even had the big beer mugs! You can imagine how that night went...

Tash won 3rd place in a nail-hammering contest..she should have one 1st place. We think it was rigged because she didn't have a skimpy dress on like the other two!

Caroline's visit to Heidelberg and Happy Birthday Christian!

It was so great to see Caroline and couldn't believe it's been a whole year since she left! Fortunately it was Christian's birthday that night too, so we had many things to "Cheers" to!

Boulder, Colorado

We visited my old boss and his family in Boulder for a long weekend. We also go a chance to go up into the Rocky Mountains....it was our first time!

We went to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We drove up a long ways and went walking around..it was a little chilly but we weren't up there that long because the weather worsened

Trip to Berlin, May 2008

In May we had visitors :-) so we took a trip to Berlin and Potsdam to soak up a little history.

The famous Brandenburg Gate...for some of you this looks familiar I
guess!

The Berlin Wall

Checkpoint Charlie

We also went to the Berlin Aquarium

After we left Berlin, we visited Potsdam which was about 30 min. away. We visited the Sans Souci Castle and the Cecilian Hof. It turned out to be a beautiful day, we couldn't have had better weather.

Cecilian Hof...the star in the grass should be covered in red flowers...we were too early!

Next we stopped by Christian's family's house and went to the hiking and over looked the Vierwaldstettersee

Then we went to Gengenbach, a little historic town in Germany, and saw a lot of cute little houses and gardens.

The Thursday we were there was a holiday and they had a special church ceremony in the morning and it's traditional to make a carpet out of flowers with a certain theme.

Skiing in Austria

Going from one extreme to the other! Thailand and now Austria. Over Easter weekend we went with Christian's Dad and Martina to the Alps. It was extremely cold, too cold for my liking, in any case we had a lot of fun and really enjoyed skiing.

This was the view from our window
This is the cabin we stayed in. Very cozy. Look at the icicles! Haven't such big ones in a while.

We just had to do it....
We couldn't get up afterwards...
