Trip to Berlin, May 2008

In May we had visitors :-) so we took a trip to Berlin and Potsdam to soak up a little history.

The famous Brandenburg Gate...for some of you this looks familiar I
guess!

The Berlin Wall

Checkpoint Charlie

We also went to the Berlin Aquarium

After we left Berlin, we visited Potsdam which was about 30 min. away. We visited the Sans Souci Castle and the Cecilian Hof. It turned out to be a beautiful day, we couldn't have had better weather.

Cecilian Hof...the star in the grass should be covered in red flowers...we were too early!

Next we stopped by Christian's family's house and went to the hiking and over looked the Vierwaldstettersee

Then we went to Gengenbach, a little historic town in Germany, and saw a lot of cute little houses and gardens.

The Thursday we were there was a holiday and they had a special church ceremony in the morning and it's traditional to make a carpet out of flowers with a certain theme.
